My Green Terror is sick - help!

Yesterday he was perfectly fine, swimming around and acting normal. Today he’s swimming on his side and I don’t know what happened! I noticed this string hanging from near his anal region but it could just be feces. Any ideas??

Looks like a parasite. The swimming on the side sounds like a swim bladder issue. Aquarium salt should deal with the parasite but don't use it if you have snails or scaless fish.
