I've got some Ghost Shrimp in my 20 gal and they seem to not be able to molt. They've got this opaque greenish white hue to them.

Can anyone suggest a safe addition to help the shrimp's health while not hurting other fish or shrimp?

I think there is an iodine additive for shrimp but I don't know anything about it. How old are these shrimp? When mine got old they started turning white and would pass on shortly after.

You can also put dried and cleaned oak leaves into the water. It's much cheaper and will help too if that's really the problem with your shrimp.

Yeah, I've noticed that the white opaque look is the look of death. When they change colors I know that my Oscar is going to get a snack soon.

my bamboo shimp never had a problem molting, but I can't keep ghost shrimp in my tank long enough to see if they would have a problem. My keyholes find them to be a nice and tasty dietary supplement :)
