Need some quick advise please!!

Hi everyone,i just bought some phytoplankton,and when i took the lid off it stinks,its rank!! Like dead snails! Is this normal?? Or should i not put it in my tank??

Well the last batch i had didnt and it was from the same source!,so would you advise me to not use this batch? Thanks

It smells like old socks when it's good. If it doesn't have a sulphur smell its probably okay. Depends on the brand.
