Never see my Zebra loaches

About 2 weeks ago I added 6 Zebra loaches to my 55 gal. commnity tank. I very rarely see them. Is it normal for them to be so shy? I've also got 6 peppered corys in there and I will occassionaly see a couple of loaches schooling along with them. The corys are always on the go. I don't think I've seen all 6 of the loaches together since I put them in there. I do see them hiding out under ledges in different areas of the tank, but not together. Just curious if it's normal behavior.

I think loaches of all types are very shy... I read they don't actually school but enjoy the company of each other so they don't feel outnumbered?

I've also heard many loaches prefer a nocturnal lifestyle
