I thought I would introduce myself - I am Justin and live in Liverpool, UK. I used to keep fish many years ago and have recently decided I want to keep them again - a lot has changed in the last 30 + years! I have already got problems with thread algae (I think) so am reducing light time and feeding. I only have a small tropical tank (21 litres for now) and have 5 fish at present - but plan to get more later today or tomorrow. I have only set the tank up about 5 weeks ago and added the fish two weeks ago. I hope to learn from you all and also hope to offer advice if and when I can,

First bit of advice. 21 litres isnt big enough to hold any more fish. What fish do you currently have?

Thanks for that. I only plan to have about 8- 10 fish, I currently have guppies in it

I would say your 21 litre tank is good for 3 guppies. Certainly dont add any more. 10 guppies will probably need 60 litres.
