New to community

Hello my name is Tony and I am new here. I've had fish tanks before in the past just for tropical fish, now I have a 30 gal long tank that I am going to do with cichlids. I all open for ideas and suggestions to cichlids as I've never had them before.

Cichlids need looks of rockwork and caves to mark off their territories and hide if they're bullied. When I had them they were always chasing each other around. I hear you need to over filter and overstock a bit so bullies won't be chasing one or two fish to death. Also they will eat plants. And need high ph of course. You can't really keep cichlids with any other fish other than bristle nose pleco and or some bigger catfish like upside down catfish or striped Raphael catfish or petricolas cat. But there's lots of different types to choose from. You should try to make sure they're coming from the same continent I think.
