Hi guys,

I noticed this afternoon that my betta has a hole in this dorsal fin.

He didn't have it this morning, I'm sure. Even if I'm wrong about that, I know 150% he didnt' have it last night because I had taken pictures of him and it's definitely not there.

I don't have anything sharp in my tank as far as I can see.

I have an apple snail and an amano shrimp. Is it possible that the amano could have done that to him?

It doesn't have black edges from what I can see, so I don't know if that that's indicative of fin rot or not.

Any ideas or any options/advice you guys have would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Almost looks like a tear rather than fin rot, either way keep the water conditions pristine with nitrates around 5-10ppm and he will heal in no time.

Thanks Hukit.

I am quite anal about my water parameters...lol. BUT I will definitley step up my PWC to make sure it's better then it is now. My nitrates are usually around 20ppm, so I will be sure to get them down.

Thanks for the input! ;)
