I will soon be upgrading to a 75gallon and with it I'm getting a nova 2 bulb t5ho fixture rated at 54 watts per bulb. With these being high output bulbs am I at medium or high light?

Medium to med-high, depending on how good the reflectors are.

You should be able to keep about any plants you want with that light, though you might get some laggy growth on carpet plants. Your biggest issue would be that a 2 bulb fixture is quite narrow compared to the front to back depth of a 75g tank. You'll need to figure out what placement works best for your plants... and that will depend on what you have, and where you have it.

Ah cool ... Hadn't thought about the front to back coverage... I'll check out the reflectors and see if they are any count.
