Just recently tested the water parameters with API mater kit and parameters were perfect. We have a 29 gal with 9 cichlids and 1 small common pleco. The pleco never would grow because cichlids would eat the algea wafers. There is driftwood though and he would eat algae. Today he was stuck behind heater dead. Idk if he got stuck for some reason and died or he just never got enough food but he was bullied a lot by cichlids and always had nipped fins. Did he get bullied to death?
Would a Chinese algae water be more suitable ?

RIP Sirius black

Probably not bullied to death if you found him wedged behind the heater. What cichlids do you have?

That's way too small a tank for 9 cichlids and a common pleco. You should have rehomed him when you saw that the cichlids were nipping him and not allowing him to feed.

I was leading on to the same thing but wanted to know what cichlids he had first to get an idea of the extent. Without the pleco, smaller dwarf cichs like saulosi you would be pushing it at 9 but not boardering cruel. Anything like yellow labs or cichs of equivalent size, 5-6inch is a big fat nono.
