Hey everybody,
I'm thinking of getting a blackwater tank going with my 20G tall that I just got. Given that most of my driftwood pieces are fairly straight and not ALL that interesting, I was curious if I could take softwood (lots of rivers and woods around us), shave off the bark, boil it, etc - and then cover it with silicone to prevent the issues that softwood often has in a tank. Would this do the trick, or would it still create problems? (I always have the silicone around from doing 3D backgrounds and coating those).
