QT a good idea in the beginning?

My tank is a few days into the fish less cycle. About 3 days now. It's a 29 gallon tank, of course no fish in it right now.

Should I go buy a cheap 10 gallon for a QT? Start the cycle now as well... or just wait for the DT to be finished and use some of the media from it.

Or will I be okay going with a QT for now?

A lot of members on this website/forum agree that using media from another fully cycled tank is a lot easier and faster.
I'm a newbie myself and I wish I had that for my 10 gal.
I congratulate you for choosing fish-less cycling, I went the other route and lost a fish due to bad advice from lfs and high ammonia :-(
