So one of my 115g tanks sprung a leak, again. We thought we had it fixed until our basement flooded.

We were told from a few people to try Dow-Corning 999-A sealant. It's supposed to be more industrial grade, and used on DIY tanks.

Anybody here used it or have heard the good, the bad or the ugly?

I'm not finding anything bad in research, but I like to try other sources.

I would call D/C and ask them exactly what's in the 999 A sealant. I called a large caulk manufacturer a while back and asked them if they thought their 100% silicone was safe for aquariums, and the rep told me that they do not have to list anti-fungal / anti-mold additives on the label or in the MSDS, and they always add them.
That said, perfecto aquarium silicone, properly applied should last you about 15 years.
