Sailfin pleco help!!

Hi we inherited my stepfathers sailfin pleco after he passed in November 2023 and now it seems to have white patch on head that has spread. I am unsure what to do. Really do not want anything to happen. My mom has been through enough grief. Any advice.

Please take a read through the "unhealthy fish" sticky and answer the questions as thoroughly as you are able. If you dont know the answer to a question then say "i dont know" rather than skipping it.

Also to Aiken's post, check the intake of the filter. There seems to be some larger items sticking to it ( in your picture) so it may be clogged and not filtering correctly.
