Seaweed sheets on clips and algae wafer question

Hi! Does putting seaweed sheets on a clip or tossing in one algae wafer be a cause of high nitrates? Just curious. ...thanks for any info!!

Id say it depends on the size of the tank and if the majority of the algae sheet is eaten or not

Thanks for responding. ......It is a 29 gallon biocube....I would tear the sheet in half and it woul be gone in less than a day....my coral beauty and wrasse would eat it up....or my urchin....

Don't hold me to this but I heard leaving algae sheets in a tank for a long time can increase phosphates.
