Seems like my cyle is going absolutely nowhere!

Hey guys, I'm new to this type of hobby but i found it very interesting from the start. Now i began my cycle October 13, 2011 and it's obviously still running today. I've been adding fish food for the ammonia, and my tests show i barely have any ammonia ! Yes, I add more and more fish food but still i get nothing. I am very frustrated cause I just want my ammonia readings to show so I can get my fish! Any advice would really help, thanks !

Trying to use fish food can be difficult because it might take a lot of fish food to increase the ammonia and there's no way to measure proper dosing. Also it'll make a mess. Using pure ammonia is best.

Also, what are your nitrite and nitrate levels, and are you using liquid or strip tests?
