Serpent stars, mating or killing each other?

We have 2 harlequin serpent stars in our 92 gallon reef. Tonight they are on top of each other "face to face", arms gently twining together. Are they mating or fighting? We took pictures and can post if needed.

I also have two serpent stars and saw the same activity. Both of my serpent stars are still alive and i have lots of baby starfish in my sump. They should just be mateing!
