Ok, I am on a mission! I have access to a fabulous shop full of tools, I know how to use them, and a plumber uncle... I have a Eclipse 6 SW and wish to create a very small protein skimmer.
But the only posts I have seen either are for much larger tanks, or involve a sump. In a few years (a home and 100gal later) will be great... but I want to provide the best home possible for a future pistol shrimp/goby sybiosis now... sigh :?
My tank sits on the kitchen table (away from lights, chemicals, etc.) but we live near a continuous construction zone (don't ask) so dust bunnies grow to cosmic size around here. Thus a sump won't work since it is in an open area... and space is a premium in my tiny apt, so I can't create a cool stand with an area for a sump.
So it has to be small and preferably attach to the tank on the back or side, oh and quiet.
Anyone up to THAT challenge?

WOW! 8O

That is a huge time sink of valuable info! ... WOW 8O
I got lost in it for 2 hours! My hand hurts from all the mousing!
Very very cool, thank you!
