I’ve been treating my male butterfly betta in a 2.5 gallon tank with 2.5 tsp of API aquarium salt for a little while now for what I think is fin rot. He hasn’t gotten any better so I was wondering if someone could help me with another solution I just feel so bad for him.
One thing that I found that works well on fin rot is to lightly dab the tips of the fins with a a q tip with hydrogen peroxide 3 percent. In addition make sure the water is very clean, melafix is also a gentle medication that wont hurt your fish.
