Skimmer water level

My skimmer (eshopps psk75h) water level in the skimmer drops every time I feed my tank. It goes back up after I stop. Is this normal?

All skimmers are effected by feeding. A lot has to do with the food itself, fatty foods and those with heavy amino acid and vitamin supplementation reduce skimming for the longest. In general the skimmer catches up fairly soon after it starts skimming again.

Is this the same why my skimmer gets excited and bubbles over every time I feed raw shrimp or scallops to my anemone ?

Foods high in chitin or cellulose like freeze dried krill will actually increase skimming.
Chitin would be contained in the shrimp and scallops. It is found in animals with exoskeletons.
