Snowflake Eel behavior???

So I bout a 2ft long 4 in thick snowflake eel about a month ago. He's awesome, totally a "sissy", and we call him Nessie. I've just noticed him going more toward the top of the tank recently....He has his body down, but he's just moving his mouth open and close towards a return pump/powerhead.


Any ideas? Normal? Other fish aren't doing it

I would say he's looking for food because that's where you feed him from. He's probably starting to settle in and be more comfortable my mates has started doing this and has even starting biting his hands
