I have posted about my situation in other threads, about how my tank became diseased with ich and how I switched my substrate to crushed coral causing my pH to skyrocket ultimately putting my fish into shock and killing all but one, my loach, who is lonely but in great health.

I love the look that the crushed coral gives, so I am set on keeping it.

I have been doing periodic water changes and treating the ich over the past month and a half... with no new additions. I am really wanting to start over and add new fish however I still have not managed to lower my ph very much it currently sits at about 8.0

The pictures below are of my tank after my disaster...

What fish would work in a smaller tank with high pH and a lonely loach?

Thanks

The crushed coral acts as a buffer& will keep your ph within that range...so do some research&look for fish which can tolerate your ph...some African fish will do well in that range ,maybe some of the smaller varieties from Lake Victoria...mainly your stock will depend on the size of your tank...
