Thai devil crab not moving for six days

So We got this fresh water thai devil crab that has not moved now for six days and it appears that it is molting but it also looks dead and it is under water and the tank smells. Again it is hard to tell if it’s dead or not and all the research I find online say the molting symptoms are similar to the death symptoms. Attached a photo there’s like white furry looking stuff coming out in between his joints, which it does kind a look like he is trying to take his shell out and molt, but at the same time shouldn’t this have happened already and he be moving around without a shell why is it taking so long? If anyone has any advice or suggestions or theories please share thank you
