Tiger Barb tank mates

If I have a shoal of 15 tiger barbs, do you think I can get away with putting in 7 or 9 tetras? Whether it be neon, black neon, or pristella.

Do you guys recommend any particular species of tetras? Thanks!

Not sure on tetras, but I've mixed tiger, rosy glass and gold barbs with peaceful results.

What size tank? TB's are generally aggressive; sometimes it works with others and sometimes it doesn't and since they're in the tank already they're going to see it as their territory so anything new you add might be attacked. Knowing tank size and other tank mates, if any, will help.

The tank is nonexistent for now, but here are my blueprints:

55 gallon moderately planted

5 tiger barbs
5 albino tiger barbs
5 green tiger barbs
numerous Malaysian trumpet snails (depending on how often they reproduce)
5 ottos
and 1 pleco (hopefully something exotic.)

P.S. I plan to introduce the tiger barbs last in the tank; this way, they won't feel the need to defend their territory.
