I think my tank was infested with velvet and not ich. That is why as much as I treated ich my fish died. I always read that velvet was hard to see and when you did it was yellow/gold in color. However, more reading it all makes sense now. It is more of a dust and can be white in color as well.

The spots were larger on my bleeding heart tetra when I thought it was ich, I probably was ich.

However, on my serpae it was more like a fine powder dust and not spots. I still have 1 serpae tetra like this. fish started to die with no signs of ich spots which could of explained me not seeing velvet on them.

Also velvet is known to peek off skin. I had that problem with the spotted pictus and the clown loaches.

I think I found my problem. Looking at pictures of velvet that is more white it looks just like my serpae that had it on their skin.

*sigh*
