Water hardness

My local water supply has very hard water and high ph I use api ph down to keep ph in acceptable range for my fish but as far as the water hardness goes will hard water have any effects on my inhabitants and what can I do to lower the hardness if need be I live in an apartment so I have no control over a water softener or anything like that

Not really the only fish I have had any problem with are corydoras I can't seem to keep them other than that everything els is happy amd healthy

Then i would leave things alone. Altering water chemistry can often cause more harm than good, and if it aint broke dont fix it.
