Over the past few months, these things have spread. They excrete this web like substance. Kinda cool, but I don't want them all over my tank. What are they and can I control the spreading of them?

It is a tube worm closely related to feather dusters. Fun to watch at night. They release a web that they catch small particles in the water, then after a few minutes they pull the Webb back in and eat every thing on it. If you have a reef tank a dotyback will help control them. In a non-reef a butter fly will eradicate them.
