What on earth is this? tentacle/worm coming out of live rock. picture

So as some of you may know i recently purchased an aquarium and about 80-100lbs of live rock. the other night i walked downstairs to get a glass of water and decided to turn on my dining room light and check out the tank. i was looking closely and noticed a tentacle or worm coming out of a hole in the live rock. i've checked on it the last two nights and it comes out after dark and out of the same place each night.

so tonight i was bored and couldn't sleep so i decided to get a pic of it. i couldn't get a good picture with just the dining room light on so i had to turn on the tank light. as soon as i did the thing sucked back into its hole. but i got this pic as it was sucking itself back in.

thanks, i figured it was some kind of worm but i was worried it might be an alien or something. lol. glad to know its harmless....what a creepy looking bugger.
