When to supplement for inverts?

I added a crew of 7 hermits and 3 snails to my 10 G tank. Overnight they really cleaned up on the green algea. How will I know if I need to supplement food for them?
One chromis is the only fish in there now.

The hermits will eat left over food from when you feed your chromis. 3 snails in a 10g will probably have plenty of algae to eat. I wouldn't worry about putting any food in there specificly for them.

They are scavengers. They will find bits and pieces.

Yeah, +1 to everything aleady said as well. Detritus will always build up in a tank, even if you don't have fish. They will always be fed well. Just be sure not to overstock on your clean up crew. Only then will you have to supplement feedings.
