I caught some fish while I was diving and I'm not sure what they were. I was in Florida. They are blue with yellow bellies and have light blue spots on them all over.
I was thinking yellow belly damsel but they just don't look the same from the pics I can find
Any help would be nice
Thanks

The Halichoeres identification is probably okay, though I couldn't find any mention of the dorsal-fin spots in literature I had on hand. The damselfish is probably correct too, but there are a couple of other Florida Stegastes with very similar juvenile coloration: Longfin Damsel (S. diencaeus) and Cocoa Damsel (S. variabilis).
