Working out kelvin ?

Hey since I am in south Africa they don't sell bulbs measured in kelvin here only in watts which doesn't really help so I spoke to my physics teacher about it an he told me you can measure the temperature of the globe and times it by 273 so what I did was take my tank thermometer and stuck it to the lid near my light an got a temperature in degrees celsius and did the calculation I'm not sure about the calculation for (f) but hope this helps
 
Don't you add 273 from your temperature reading if it is celcius, not multiply? 0 kelvin is -273C. I may be mistaken :s
