i was just wondering what is the best way to change out filter cartridges without losing the cycle? not sure if i worded that right but my filter cartridges finally need changing and i dont want to kill my tank. i have 2 penguin 350's, which would be 4 cartridges.

If you're talking about the carbon packs, just change them. It's the "bio filter pad" you don't wanna change/wash out. However, when it gets mucked up enough that it restricts water flow just take it out and rinse in a bucket of tank water (NEVER RINSE WITH TAP WATER) and put it back in place.
