I'm not a Cichlid expert or anything but I'm pretty sure there are no cichlids that is good for a 5 gallon there's really not many fish at all that are good for 5 gallons sorry

The smallest cichlid that I know of is neolamprologus' multifasciatus at about 1-1.5" and even those need a 10 gallon minimum. There are some micro fish that only get 3/4-1" that would be better suited for a tank like that.

IMO even the smallest cichilds need more swim room than a 5 gallon could provide even a 10 is small.

10 gallon is more than sufficient for the smaller shellies like Multies who rarely stray more than 4-6" from their shells.

Get an oscar XD just kidding under no circumstances should an oscar be kept in anything under 55 gallons.

Haha by that logic get one flowerhorn per gallon and pack them in like sardines in a can
