So I have a 29 gallon standard cycling as we speak and I'm ready to get involved with cichlids. I am looking at convicts. Will the surface area suffice for a pair of them plus a group of cories to keep the tank clean?

Would you have any advice for a clean up crew to go with my couple or are they a do it all of sorts? I know they are very liberal in their choice of food and are the ultimate beginner cichlids but I have always had clean up crews in my tanks and figured this would be no different. And thank you for your rapid and concise response.

You don't need a clean up crew. Once they breed the fry will eat all the food of the bottom, and the parents will terrorize anything else in that footprint.
