I have a 30 gal AIO nano reef up 4 months. My nano skimmer produces a dark tea colored skim mate that's watery. It smells like my phyto feast liquid food I feed my corals. I only have 2 clowns and a shrimp so a light bioload. I only feed once every other day and I manually rinse out the pads every few days. I change 5 gals every 2 weeks. Is this a normal skim mate? It's not the foul smelling gunk I read about. Something dark is being removed from the tank so I feel good about that but do you think the skimmer is doing anything? I have it tuned so the froth has to really fight to make it into the cup but it still ends up watery. Is yours like this?

It sounds like you are good with water changes and dont overfeed, so without a heavy bioload its probably pulling out all there is to pull.
