Heat is a huge consideration, then you will enter the realm of chillers. No more $$$$$$$.

I know this post was from a while back and i must have skipped over it. But are saying you are downgrading to a 250 because of heat? And are you saying a 400W is better for my 90g then a 250W?

I'm saying that there are a lot of folks on the site that can help you with lighting more than I can. You may want to use the 400W because you have a deep tank, or you may want to use a 250W because of heat issues. I really don't know.

It's the lighting. We have a 6 bulb HO T5 fixture, and the person that sold it to us was running 2 10K bulbs and 4 actinics. They aren't due for replacement quite yet so we just went with it.
