After acclimating the fish, can I add the old water back to the tank?

I am acclimating my fish right now, after it acclimate can I add the old water back to the tank?

You shouldn't because it will be mix of the water the fish came in and your water. You don't want to introduce foreign water into your tank if you can avoid it.
