Cardinal fish

Hi need some info, I just bought another cardinal for my tank and I already had one in tank on its own for bout 6 months . The new ones bit smaller and they are fighting so is that normal or not good and only been in tank for few hrs. I know it's hard to sex them and have done it by the different jaws but like to know as if dont settle in tank will take it back before its to late .

That's totally normal. I got my cardinals at different time too and there was some chasing for about a week. They didn't actually fight, though, so no torn fins. They're probably just figuring out the pecking order. For it a few days as long as there aren't any torn fins.

Cheers, looks like chasing and bumping at the min,it's shame as new one just want to swim with other lol but will keep eye out for nipped fins

Well my cardinal has killed the new one so don't think il try again

Oh man that sucks. I guess the chasing progressed huh? Were the fins torn up?

Yeah but was the side fins, shame as was goin take back to shop but didn't make it through the night.
