Hi

Yesterday I went and bought a fox face to add to my 260L aquarium and now the rabbitfish in the tank is nipping and chasing the fox face around the tank. It seems to have slowed down since yesterday but I'm worried that the rabbitfish will continue this behaviour and stress the fox face out for too long. The fox face has been in its camouflage colours with its spines up most of the day but they aren't fighting as much. They are both still eating as normal.

Has anyone else had this issue? and will it resolve?

I've read stories that they get along, so hopefully they will sort things out.

Other fish in the tank are:

2 fire gobies
1 mandarinfish
1 cardinal fish
some snails
1 banded coral shrimp

Although I don't doubt they have been kept together I always thought they wouldn't get along with other rabbitfish especially if one is already established in the tank.

A huge issue other then that may be available space in the tank for each fish

Rabbit fish and Fox Face should not be housed together in such a small tank. They are peaceful fish, unless put together. Both also require a much larger tank, they will get much bigger than what you bought them as.
