Ick will look like little grains of salt on the body. Other symptoms include flashing (rubbing up againt surfaces) and other signs of stress. Youll need to cure it with hyposalinity or copper if it is ick.

Specifically around 1.008. I did this over a period of about 2 weeks. Them after the last white spots went away I left the tank like that for 3 weeks then raised it back to normal over two more weeks. This low of salinity will kill live rock and sand and also inverts ad corals. Set up a separate tank and put the fish in there OR put the rock in a different tank and hypo the fish in the DT. Hope this helps
