Lots of Algae

So my aquarium has been been building up alot of grass like algae, it's a really bad eyesore. The algae is about 1/2 inch, red, and only grows near the back of my tank. Any ways to get rid of it? Any fish or invertebrates anyone knows about that will eat it, or should I just keep scooping it out?
