Quick MH ballast question

Is it ok to place these things directly on the wood stand floor?

Or do I need to do something special for heat dissipation?

na man it should be fine. IS it electronic or agnetic w/ a cap. If you are worried put a small computer fan on it

I always put something under the ballasts just so some air can get aound all sides of it including the bottom. Just to be safe.

If it is a tar(magnetic) ballast I would stick it on something esp. if it is one carpet. Electric Ballasts are cool to the touch so you won't have a problem.

I used stand-offs for my ballasts. I mounted then imside the stand and stood them off about 1-1/2 inches for the air to circulate around them.
