What causes algae to grow if their is no direct sunlight hitting the tank? I clean the tank once a week and do a pwc??

If there are nutrients for it to grow, a regular aquarium light can grow it without natural sunlight.

Ambient room light is normally enough to at least grow some algae in the glass.

Also the strength of your tank light and how long it's on for. If its brown dust like algae it diatoms. Nothing you can do about that. They will burn out and go away eventually.

It's brown algae, I guess just regular algae... it's growing on the glass and on some plastic plants! Thank you guys, I appreciate the responses!! :)
