One weird bit of behaviour is that one of my Rummynose Tetra has become obsessed with one of the Rams. He swims underneath the Ram, shadowing him for a few minutes, then returns to his shoal, only to return a few minutes later. It's quite sweet to watch :)

I have one rummy that does this with the white cloud mountain minnows. It's hilarious. It's like the fish version of "me and my shadow".

Lol! I think they're confused. Either that or the wanna play with the big boys!

I just added 2 Bolivian rams to my community. I have angels as well

Are they settling in ok? Mine seem very mellow.

The seem like it. The rams kinda chase each other... They swim with the angels some :) they seem to be ok so far

Cool. My Angels don't really pay them any attention, which is odd. The Rams are very attentive. Whenever I sit on the sofa next to the tank, they're always straight over. Probably think they're going to get fed!

An update....

Both Bolivians are doing well. They're eating well & have really settled in great!

Both photos are of 'spot', the smaller, but much easier to photograph, of the pair!

Cheers. I was a little worried about aggression with them, but they've been fine so far. Quite a quirky little fish & very attentive.

Imo your tank mates won't be very good with the rams. Through my research I have found that the tank needs to be build around the rams in order for them to be happy.

Interesting. I suppose it varies from fish to fish, but they interact well with all their tank mates at present. There is no aggression either way & they feed well & hang out with my Clown loaches, Rummies & Pleco's. I found from my research that they were a pretty adaptable, hardy Dwarf & normally good in a community. Time will tell I suppose!

I have a pair of GBR in my 55 with flame von rio tetras, black neon tetras, cherry barbs, an angel, they all get along well and I found the same behaviour in the von rios you mentioned in your rummynose. The day I put them in the tank they swam right to my male ram and started following him everywhere! Odd but great and my angel was a little pushy with the rams at first, but once they got acclimated all is well. Hope it works as well for you ;)

Cheers. They're quite characterful little fish & my Angels completely ignore them, which is a bit of a surprise. Saying that my two largest angels are complete cowards :)
