Those actually look a LOT like a standard Neon Tetra that has seen some very bad water conditions for a LONG time, how long have you had them????

Glo-Lites are orange, I could take some pics of mine if you'd like, just let me know...

HTH, Joshua...

Looks like a serpae tetra or a close relative to me. My guess is that the blue stripe is not really blue, but rather reflected light.

Actually, I believe that is a Blood Fin Tetra. I almost bought some from my fav lfs. I've developed quite an affinity for tetras. They may be my favorite species of fish. Maybe. :)

It's a columbian tetra or a flame tetra. They have red fins with an almost neon blue body. Very simmilar coloration to an adult male dwarf rainbow (MELANOTAENIA PRAECOX). They are similar in body type and temperment to a diamond tetra, but can be very teratorial and agreassive when they get older.

Serpae tetras have black patches on their dorsal fins. Hard to tell in this picture but I don't think they're serpaes...

I think I'll go with docrak's ID on this one.....body shape is very much like Hyphessobrycon and the general fin arrangement/shape and color scheme match Hyphessobrycon ecuadoriensis very nicely. Tetras sure are a pain in the butt to identify...especially from pictures!!

i almost thought they were serpaes but the black in the fin made me say no.... i think the columbian is it, thats exactly what it is!!! im excited.... the blue is actually blue on the fish, its a slight shinny blue. they look really neat... and saddly i hav to go back because one of the lemons died :( i came home, and he was dead in a plant...
