I've been away for a while and left the cleaning and maintenance up to family. The tank itself looks great, but this green bubbling algae is growing on my hood lights. Obviously, it's been growing for a while.

I've seen green algae on the lights before but never seen bubbles. Usually just wipe it off. Is this bad? Is it something I can just go ahead and wipe away or am I going to die from noxious gases released from these bubbles?1478709881269.jpg1478709892809.jpg

If its just on the glass, clean it with warm water and an old tooth brush.
