You may be thinking that because your aquarium has a low pH your fish are safe. Think again. A fish's blood is around pH 7.2-7.5. Thus if ammonia is present within the tissues of a fish it will become more toxic due to the increased pH of the blood.

I'm going to say this article is gennerally incorrect

With the above quote, NH3 disolves into water (I assume) with this reaction

NH3+H20 -> NH4 + OH-

Basicly the ammonia disolving in the water yeilds more basic water, more basic water dosn't yeild more ammonia.
