pool filter sand vs. play sand

Because of the pfs being more coarse compared to the playsand is it still safe to use with corydoras? If so then i think thats what I'm gonna go with.
Is it possible to buy a dark colored pfs?

i just got done rinsing pool filter sand for my 55g and compared to my childrens playsand(purchased at lowes) it is about the same grade. its a finer sand and mine is a light tan color. im hoping my cories will like it too

I think that the finer the sand is the better corys like it because of the way they sift through sand and silt in nature. It's just more work for us to provide that real fine substrate they enjoy so much.
So... i guess I'm undecided which way to go. Does anyone else think it makes a vast difference? I'm just using an educated guess and don't really have any experience or proof to back it up.
