Aquarium Advice Newbie
I want to set up a quarantine/acclimation tank. Should I buy all the same equipment that I have on my existing tank? For example, should I get the same type of filter and heater? Does it even matter?

I don't think the heater and filter types would matter.
As long as the water parameters and temperatures are the same, you should be good.
Having said that, i have the same filters in my main and QT tanks. That's so i can move some of the filter media from the main aquarium to the QT when I get new fish. When the new fish go into the community tank, I put the QT media back into the main filter and put the QT away until next time.
