Okay so I was watching my fish for a bit and I noticed this white speck on the tank glass. Then I saw one of my neons snatch it up for a snack then promptly spit it out. I went up to investigate and saw this tiny crustacean like creature on the tank glass. It was about 2-3mm long and 1-2mm wide. It is free swimming with beige antennae which appear to be used for filter feeding sticking out of it. It seems to have a calciferous shell around it. that it opens and closes to swim.
Anyone know what it is? (i've removed it from the tank with a pipette and put it in a cup) It's too small to photograph with my digital camera.
I think they are ostrocods...anyone have them before?

Most likely an amphipod. Let the fish dine. ;)
