This stuff is on plant leaves and my cave. It's browny black. Looks fluffy is and stands out. Best pic I could get. Ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 10ppm. Tank running almost 2 years.

BBA..

H2O2 spot treatment (if you have no sensitive inverts)

Or manual removal of infected leaves.

No I'm not. I have noticed my platys seem to be eating this? Is it worth just throwing the plant and getting a new one or is it salvageable?

The platies should eat some of this!(per link I provided above^)
I would not toss the plant as it is not the plant that causes this growth(He mumbles we all have had this stuff!)
It is really a control issue as it may never go completely away without dedicated treatment(he thinks mine still exist on my java fern today).
You really don't have a lot so I would just inject the H2O2(Hydrogen peroxide) to the plants and hope for best.
Hydrogen peroxide - The Free Freshwater and Saltwater Aquarium Encyclopedia Anyone Can Edit - The Aquarium Wiki
If it just your java fern you can dip it in H2O2 also.

Thanks. I'll take a trip to the shop on Monday

I have some questions to help prevent the algae from getting worse...

Whats the light fixture youre running?
How long are the lights on daily?
What size is the tank?
Any ferts?
Any carbon source?

Not sure on light. It all came as one. It's on about 12 hours (probably my problem right there) it's a 20g. No fert or carbon source

Yep there's your problem, too much light and no fertilizers or carbon to back it up.

Cut back to 6-8 hours.

My BBa goes away some by reducing the photoperiod but best from using excel. I've been around that cycle a few times.

And having a teeny bit around seems good for the platies!

Thanks. I'll try cutting back light and will get to lfs when it opens

FYI the H2O2 will not be sold at the LFS nor IMO will they have anything good to say about it since;
A. they don't sell it
B. the stuff like excel they sell is only like 10-20 x more expensive.
H2O2 is easily found at grocery /drug stores for .99 a quart.
